Design Thursday #11 ·

How does the technology of 1969 solve today's problems?

Jonas Liugaila · CRITICAL design strategist and lector

cycle: Behind Design · free entrance for members

Critical is a strategic design agency, a community. Critical creates, maintains and develops brands in visual communication, packaging, publishing, the digital world and solves other business and public problems with the help of design.

Critical thinking and feasibility studies are very important for companies. It challenges traditional ways of thinking by improving and make meaningful changes for customers and the public. The company believes in the design (process) as a problem solving tool that can solve real business and social problems. An in depth understanding of the origins of the problem for each project is critically important.

Critical – tai strateginio dizaino agentūra, bendruomenė. Kuria, atnaujina, prižiūri ir vysto prekių ženklus vizualinėje komunikacijoje, pakuotėse, leidiniuose, skaitmeniniame pasaulyje bei sprendžiame kitus verslo bei visuomeninius klausimus dizaino pagalba.

Įmonei svarbus kritinis mąstymas, galimybių tyrinėjimas. Tai iššūkis tradiciniams mąstymo būdams, siekiant pagerinti ir atlikti prasmingus pokyčius žmonėms, klientams, visuomenei. Įmonė tiki dizainu (procesu), kaip problemų sprendimo įrankiu, galinčiu išspręsti realias verslo ir socialines problemas. Gilinimasis į kiekvieno projekto problemos priežastingumą yra kritiškai svarbus.

Jonas Liugaila is a lecturer, design strategist and co-founder of the design agency Critical. Jonas was the first speaker at the Behind Design talk organized by DesignLibrary Kaunas. The first event of the cycle focused on one of the most effective problem-solving methods in the field of design, illustrated by fresh, local examples of application of the method in the design, cultural, educational and everyday spheres.

-----------------------

Jonas Liugaila – lektorius, dizaino strategas, dizaino agentūros „Critical“ bendraįkūrėjas. Jonas buvo pirmasis „DesignLibrary Kaunas“ organizuoto renginių ciklo „Behind Design“ pranešėjas. Pirmajame ciklo renginyje buvo kalbėta apie vieną iš šiuo metu efektyviausių dizaino srities problemų sprendimo metodų, kuris iliustruotas šviežiais, nacionaliniais metodo taikymo pavyzdžiais dizaino, kultūrinėje, edukacinėje ir buitinėje sferose.

Tell us about your business?

The activities in each project are quite unique. There is only one thing constant that unites all the projects and helps the team communicate, which is the design process. First of all, we try to understand, then once we have our insights we begin to create, which, through a set of criteria and feedback, leads to finalization after the delivery of solutions. The latter is accompanied by a reflection of the project with the team and with the client.

How is the term Design Thinking understood in your company?

We understand design thinking as a coherent process of thinking. It's like our in-house Esperanto language, which builds on the idea of helping different people communicate, through universality and simplicity. This language helps us understand where we were, where we are, where we are going.

-----------------------

Papasakokite apie savo įmonės veiklą?

Veikla kiekvieno projekto atveju pakankamai unikali.

Mums ši kalba padeda besikalbant suprasti kur buvome, kur esame, kur einame.
